What size snowboard boots to buy? How do they fit?
No local stores to try on boots, so I would need to order online. I wear a size 11 (men's) in street shoes, but do snowboard boots fit big (where I would need to go down a half/whole size), or would I need to go up a half/whole size due to wearing thicker socks?
I realize that every brand is different, but are there any general guidelines? Looking to spend $200-$300. (I'm assuming I can save money by ordering early online, instead of buying from a gear-shop at the resort.)
Hi,
It is rare for one brand's sizing to match anothers. If you measure your foot using the method below and email it to the retailer, they should be able to let you know with a high degree of certainty that a specific boot size will be a good fit.
Please measure your foot using this method:
Kick your heel (barefoot please, no socks) back against a wall. Mark the floor exactly at the tip of your toe (the one that sticks out furthest - which toe this is will vary by rider). Measure from the mark on the floor to the wall. That is your foot length and is the only measurement that you will want to use. Measure in centimeters if possible, but if not, take inches and multiply by 2.54 (example: an 11.25 inch foot x 2.54 = 28.57 centimeters).
