raleigh mountain sport m40, the suspension forks seem like their gonna come apart. the bike is cheap and is ?
only used to run the dog. what is the cheapest way to fix this .the forks say omni on them and the malfunction is at the shock part
Your bike was built in 2001, the only year that fork was used, thank goodness. The specific model was the Omni CL from what I remember. The bike had a list price of $399.99 which brings it to the "recreational" range... my guess it was used beyond it's design parameters.
RST- the maker of the fork- should still have parts available to service it. I suggest that you contact Raleigh USA http://raleighusa.com and see if they can hook you up. They might request that you go to a local shop for repair since it will take some special tools to correct the issue. Keep in mind that the bike is well out of warranty, so be NICE.
Failing the desire to spend the money on the repair, you could replace the existing fork with a rigid model that could be gotten from another cannibalized bike but be sure everything (wheel size, steerer size, etc) match up.
