Feeling Blue this Autumn?
Bright blue is the colour to be seen in this autumn. If you want to be bold, bright and get yourself noticed it is the ideal colour. However, if you are someone who prefers to blend into the background or someone who isn’t used to wearing bright colours you may wonder if you can pull it off.
A personal colour analysis with a colour consultant could be just what you need. It’s a great way to find out which colours work best with your own colouring and how to wear colour to express your personality through your clothes. A personal colour analysis makes a fantastic Christmas present for women of all ages. Check out your style personality below to find some easy ways of introducing blue to your wardrobe.
Naturals
The naturals have a relaxed, casual approach to their clothes. They like their clothes to be practical and sensible for their lifestyle. If you are a natural you will probably prefer neutral shades to colour and your clothes will be plainer rather than highly patterned. If you were to buy bright, royal blue in a large item, such as a coat or dress, on impulse you would probably feel uncomfortably conspicuous in it. Don’t be afraid of bright blues, they have no hidden connotations, but do use them in moderation. A scarf or belt will be enough to give the high fashion look without over-doing it!
Creatives
The creatives will by now have probably decided how they are going to wear their blue this season. Creatives love to create their own look and don’t like the “cloned” look of high fashion. They may, however, still like to add a funky pair of bright blue tights or some of the more unusual blue jewellery. They might even make their own pieces or add some electric blue streaks to their hair.
Dramatics
The dramatics love clothes, love fashion and love to be the centre of attention. So, the bright blues available this season will be right up their street! If you are a dramatic enjoy bright blues in large quantities. Go for dresses, jackets, winter coats, boots, patent shoes (killer-heels and platforms) and large costume jewellery to make an electrifying impact! Just make sure if you’re buying a large item in bright blue that you don’t over-spend. By next winter blue might have had its day and being a dramatic you will want the newest shade on the catwalk!
Romantics
The romantics enjoy a pretty, feminine look and often go for pastel shades and floral patterns rather than big blocks of bright colour. However, they can still enjoy the bright blues of this season to keep their look current. If you are a romantic don’t opt for the deepest royal blues but go for a medium bright blue instead. Choosing sheer, floaty fabrics will suit your personality but will also take away some of the brightness so that you don’t feel too loud! Mix bright blues with icy shades of blue to keep the look pretty.
Classics
The classics are usually quite traditional and smart in their look. Some colours such as orange and yellow they will find too wacky and they usually stick to safe options such as navy and white. Royal blue can easily be added to their classic neutrals to give a smart and elegant look. Royal blue in a classic style such as a blouse or shift dress will be perfect for the classic. If you are a classic, buy as much as you are comfortable with and if a dress is too daring just go for smaller amounts such as a scarf or a royal blue trim on a jacket.
City Chics
The city chics are like the classics in that their look is smart and elegant and they appreciate good quality. However, these women find it easier to dress down whilst still looking elegant and know how to dress appropriately for every occasion. The city chic has a wardrobe full of well-tailored, neutral items – navy, grey, beige and black and can add their bright blue in their accessories. They are often fond of bags and shoes and should treat themselves to some this season in royal blue to get the look. A bright blue pashmina can enhance a daytime jacket or maybe worn around the shoulders of evening wear.
Whatever your style personality, a personal colour analysis and style consultation will ensure you wear your blue in the most flattering way for you.
